Welcome to WellPath! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a passion for helping you live your most fulfilling life. My twelve years of experience have taught me that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to meeting your psychotherapy needs. The treatment goals we set will be as unique as you are. Guy Merritt, NCC, LCPC
Helping clients for three decades, I began work with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders - often substance use issues happening at the same time as a mood disorder such as depression and/or anxiety. The classic chicken and egg scenario! Trained in a variety of modalities beginning with William Glasser's Choice Theory and Terrance Gorsky's Relapse Prevention Therapy, my therapeutic starting point is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy interventions. Simply put, I believe the quickest way to improving your day is to connect the urges and actions you experience to the thoughts and feelings driving them. Let's figure it out together!
